What is AD/HD?
Understanding AD/HD, the Neurological Disorder
Part I: Learn about the three types of AD/HD, the causes and the best treatment approach. The neurological problems that affect those with AD/HD throughout their lifespan is addressed. Hear about the co-morbid conditions often associated with AD/HD. How AD/HD is assessed and information on medications is also presented.
Part II: Strategies that can be used to compensate for the neurological problems associated with AD/HD. Strategies are presented for the particular audience: teachers, social workers, therapists, chemical dependency counselors and other professional groups. Strategies for school, work, life management or family management are included depending on the needs of the audience.
The contents of both parts of this series are planned in coordination with the workshop sponsor. Based on the needs of the audience, the length of each part can be from 1 1/2 to 3 hours.
